In 1913, SCG was established in Thailand, following a royal decree of His Majesty King Rama VI to produce cement, a main building materials for infrastructure projects which was vital to the nation's development at that time. With more than 200 companies under its umbrella and approximately 57,000 employees, SCG pledges further efforts to create excellent innovations, services and integrated solutions in 3 core business units, namely Cement-Building Materials Business, Chemicals Business, and Packaging Business to meet consumer needs and enhance the standard of living while encouraging sustainable growth in societies and communities where it operates.

SCG began its business operations in Vietnam since 1992 with trading business and gradually expanded investment in diversified businesses in the cement-building materials, chemicals, and packaging. Today, with total of 26 companies across Vietnam driven by more than 16,000 employees, SCG offers variety of premium products and services to markets.
In Vietnam, with passion for better, SCG is recognized a leading conglomerate to contribute to human development in Vietnam through many activities for the youth such as SCG Sharing The Dream scholarship, SCG Outdoor gym, SCG playgrounds, SCG International Children's Day, SCG Excellent Internship, etc.
