The BI Manager is responsible for leading the strategic design and maintenance of business intelligence applications. The candidate manages a team of analysts and developers who facilitate business intelligence processes and procedures development and implementation.
Job Description:
* Business requirement
- Interview end users to determine requirements for data, reports, analyses, metadata, training, service levels, data quality, and performance
- Work with analysts and developers to translate requirements into functional and technical specifications and documentation
- Ensure the proposed implementation scales and serves a long-term business need
- Ensure the quality of the delivered projects and the adoption of the completed projects by the business users
* Business project management
- Work with multiple business constituencies, effectively manage their expectations, estimate projects, and establish priorities
- Maintain a BI roadmap, set BI-weekly sprints, communicate to business constituencies the content and status of sprints
- Drive the completion of projects within the established scope and within the agreed SLAs, while simultaneously planning for and managing unknown future BI requirements in a dynamic environment
- Sell, evangelize, and motivate business users to contribute time to the effort, and constantly reinforce the role of BI in the business
* Data architecture
- Define and manage the data structures required to support the company
- Represent the data so it can be understood uniformly throughout the company
- Ensure up to date documentation of the data structures / tables / fields
* ETL architecture
- Determine the optimal approach for obtaining data from diverse source system platforms and moving it to the BI
- Designs and implement the infrastructure used by ETL specialists
- Establish and enforce technical standards for deliverables of projects
* Human resources
- Drive consistency and high standards across projects and people
- Hire, manage and train a team of analysts and developers
